ENGINEERING GUIDE 04

Size, Wall Thickness, Holes and Design Limits

Manufacturability depends on more than the machine envelope. Orientation, support, fiber routing and critical features must be considered together.

01

Build envelope and orientation

The standard maximum envelope is 300 × 300 × 245 mm. A part near this size may still require reorientation, segmentation or geometry changes depending on support and reinforcement access.

02

Walls, ribs and transitions

Very thin walls may not provide enough room for stable deposition or continuous-fiber paths. Wall, rib and fillet choices should reflect the matrix material, load and print direction.

03

Holes and critical dimensions

Printed holes may need allowance, inserts or secondary finishing when fit is important. State the critical dimensions and mating interfaces instead of applying one tolerance to the whole model.
